WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Work in collaboration with multi-functional disciplines in multiple countries to design and develop products that meet customer specifications and company requirements for schedule, cost, production ability, quality and reliability.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

To write high-quality embedded and PC software to support a wide range of manufactured products.

The Role

  • On quality, on time and on cost delivery of embedded software functionality according to the software specification or product requirements.
  • The writing of code to a professional standard with in-line documentation where necessary and in accordance with CPI standards.
  • The accurate timescale estimation and ownership of project deliverables for software development.
  • The ability to highlight software risks and mitigations early on in a project.
  • To contribute to the project team in a concise, informed and professional manner.
  • To provide creative input on all aspects of software design and problem solving.
  • To maintain version records for tracking software changes on each project in accordance with CPI standards.

Key Skills

  • Degree qualified in engineering, science or mathematics.
  • 5+ Years of experience in embedded firmware programming in C.
  • Experience of Microsoft Visual Studio in Windows 7 / 10.
  • Proficient in C# or VB.
  • Experience of other languages advantageous e.g. Python / JavaScript / VBA
  • Experience of communication protocols such as USB and Bluetooth.
  • Experience of hardware projects (micro controllers, motors, steppers, solenoids, optical sensors, and displays
  • Working knowledge of digital / analogue electronics and CAD
  • Use of standard lab equipment.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skill
  • Track-record of successful software design.
  • At least 5 year’s experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent time management with ability to work alone and unsupervised.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking protocols/systems.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Flexible approach to demands, deadlines and project direction.
  • Able to make oral and written presentations. Be able to confidently present opinions and thoughts in a clear, unbiased manner.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on an infrequent basis to meet colleagues and customers.
